Director Responsibilities

The engineering directors handle management of the discipline teams. The full scope of that responsibility is always evolving, but includes everything in these non-exhaustive lists.

Responsibilities

All directors

• Own maintenance of discipline-specific:
  • coding standards
  • open source projects
  • coding labs
  • coding challenges
• Conduct performance reviews
• Conduct monthly check-ins with team members
• Keep outside collaborators document up to date
• Encourage team members to contribute to the company blog and Vokal Bytes
• Occasionally review the Vokal-Engineering repo for outdated information that needs to be updated or removed
• Review and prune the outside collaborator list on GitHub each quarter
• Own Vokal Bytes
• Ensure team members have appropriate levels of access to services. See Account Access section below.

• Own the project template
• Add all new employees to the Vokal team on HockeyApp, so they can get access to test builds as needed
